www.theredquest.com My arrival into the Rwandan capital coincided with the 18th anniversary of the Genocide. I check into the Top Tower Hotel and see the sights, including a city centre walk, a trip on the back of a motorbike taxi, a visit to the Genocide Memorial Centre, and a beer in the Milles de Collines, the hotel made famous by the movie 'Hotel Rwanda'. Recent African tourism records show Rwanda as one of the fast growing tourist destinations in Africa. The country's tourism's industry witnessed yet another double digit growth in 2016 over the previous year 2015. With this in hand, the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) is considering turning the country into a luxurious tourism destination that would drive up revenues. A few weeks ago the board announced an increase in the price of gorilla permits from $750 to $1,500 for all visitors effective… READ MORE : http://www.africanews.com/2017/06/29/exploring-rwanda-s-tourism-potential-travel Africanews on YouTube brings you a daily dose of news, produced and realised in Africa, by and for Africans. There are some places that are so famous and so legendary that even before you set foot there, it feels familiar. The Amalfi Coast or “road of a thousand bends” is one such place. This route has attracted society’s rich and beautiful for thousands of years and inspired some of the world’s greatest artists and writers. The area’s largest city, Amalfi is a great place to begin this legendary journey. A wealthy and powerful town during medieval times, merchants here were amongst the few who had gold coins to spend instead of the barter system used throughout the rest of Italy. This is a very short chronicle of my recent 6 day media trip to Rwanda, courtesy RwandAir & the Rwandan Development Board (RDB), in which I went around the country and learned a lot about Rwandan Culture and Tourism. Rwanda has come a long way from its history of Genocide, turning what could have been the most crippling part of its' story into a triumphant one, with developments in Agriculture, Infrastructure, and of course, Tourism, which has become a big revenue source for the nation. It's impossible to show the true beauty of Rwanda, I hope my small story encourages you to visit and see more. Activities (In no particular order) Umuganda (Community Service - Yes, I helped clear roads and build a house). King's Palace Museum & the Ethnographic Museum, Musanze Caves Kivu 'Kwitizina' (na...
The land of a Thousand Hills", Rwanda is a green undulating landscape of hills, gardens and tea plantations. It offers tourists a one of a kind journey - home to one third of the world remaining Mountain Gorillas, one third of Africa's birdspecies, several species of primates, volcanoes, game reserve, resorts and islands on the expansive lake Kivu, graceful dancers, artistic crafts and friendly people.

Our visit to Rwanda was a dream come true, and we couldn't have had a better guide taking care of us the entire time we were there. If you're interested in going to Rwanda and replicating our trip, I highly recommend Amahoro Tours, and ask for Safari. Tell them I referred you, and revel in the remarkable beauty that is Rwanda. (Amahoro means "peace.") Help us caption & translate this video! http://amara.org/v/2AQf/
We came to Rwanda to see the Mountain Gorillas 🦍. We saw them. And we will never be the same. Dian Fossey was one of my first animal protection heroes, so to visit the place where their conservation story began was a dream come true. Visit Rwanda for an unforgettable experience, or just donate to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to save these precious animals and their habitat. *Visit ColleenPatrickGoudreau.com http://www.colleenpatrickgoudreau.com for more Help us caption & translate this video! http://amara.org/v/2PUV/
Country #19 in 2015 was RWANDA! This country was hands down our favorite in Africa. Despite all the challenges, struggles and down right treacherous past the country has had, the government and people are making great gains to preserve their beautiful piece of this planet. The streets are clean, the people overwhelmingly friendly and hard working, plus the wildlife is out of this World. Gorilla trekking in the Virunga Mountains goes on our top 5 travel experiences of all time. Check out what adventure we are doing right now at http://www.divergenttravelers.com/
